Barnes and Noble 4/5Goodreads.com 3.84/5Personal 4/5I chose to read this book because of how much I enjoyed Orwell's other famous novel: 1984. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a political commentary or realistic fiction based on real world flaws. In Animal Farm, Orwell found a way to comment on the dangers of totalitarian government while also maintaining a simplistic, entertaining beast tale that could be enjoyed by young and old. While 1984 put emphasis on the specific dangers of totalitarian rule and went into great detail to make sure his point came across clearly, the commentary in Animal Farm is more subtle and less overwhelming leaving me with a positive impression of the book.
